A reading journey.

Why you should read whatever you like (and forget the rest)

I think it’s important to read whatever you like. There is no rule.

You don’t always need to have an opinion, but it’s also okay if you do.

You don’t need to follow trends. But if you enjoy them, that’s fine too.

Maybe you saw a book with a cute cover that it called your attention. And just like that, you’re reading again.

Reading is something very personal, very intimate. It’s okay if only you like that book. That is enough.

Sometimes, I feel people read only to have an opinion, to show something, or to pretend they are someone else. Someone that is more "something"...More interesting, more mysterious, more inteligent, more opinionated...and so on, so on. But then I wonder… are we not all pretending, in some way? Maybe we just want to be heard. Maybe we just want some attention.

But in this process, we can forget what really matters: how the book made you feel, what it taught you, what it whispered only to you.

Think of this: someone was brave enough to write something. A story, short or long, and share it with the world. They left a piece of themselves in those pages. But often, instead of remembering that, we focus on everything we think could be “better.”

I believe we need to remember this: every book is a piece of someone who dared to share. Be kind. Don’t always look only at the bad. Be grateful. And don’t think you need to have an opinion about every book. Life keeps moving, whether you liked it or not.

And maybe, that’s the beauty of reading, it doesn’t have to be more complicated than that.
